AC Milan striker Mario Balotelli has hit the headlines again off-the-field with his new haircut. Headline maker: Mario Balotelli took to Twitter on Monday night to show off his new haircut. Standing out: Balotelli's previous haircuts have also made headlines off-the-field as well in England and Italy. Balotelli missed the match through suspension after being booked for his celebration in AC Milan's dramatic win at Cagliari the week before.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers didn't bother plugging in their guitars for the Super Bowl

As noted by Fansided, Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea and guitarist Josh Klingenhoffer didn't appear to have their instruments plugged in during the halftime show, which came during the most-watched television program of all time. In January, Flea played the national anthem before a UCLA game. Here's Klinghoffer playing guitar during the Super Bowl performance. Though there's been no explanation yet, it's possible the band was concerned about playing stringed instruments in cold weather.

Mets Sign Farnsworth

The Mets continued to fill out their bullpen, announcing that they had signed Kyle Farnsworth to a minor league deal, with an invitation to spring training. Bobby Parnell is expected to be the Mets' closer, but Farnsworth and the young right-hander Vic Black could vie for the setup role. The team also extended the contracts of Manager Kirk Gibson and General Manager Kevin Towers. Their deals had been set to expire after the coming season.

Barca vice president backs Champions League expansion

BARCELONA - Barcelona vice president Javier Faus has called for the expansion of the Champions League as well as the reduction of national top flights by up to four clubs. UEFA has considered increasing the size of the Champions League proper to 64 clubs from 32 clubs following demands from Europe's top sides, who see clear financial rewards of facing each other on a more regular basis. "We want to see the Champions League expanded and at the same time national leagues should be reduced from 20 clubs down to 18 or even maybe 16," Faus told Reuters. Unlike the English Premier League and other top divisions where there is collective bargaining, Spanish clubs are allowed to negotiate their own deals with Barcelona and Real Madrid taking home 50 percent of the money.
